A Typical Week

At chalet Vithos bookings run from Sunday to Sunday which is a great advantage to our guests as most other chalets in the 3 Valleys are run on a Saturday to Saturday basis meaning quiet slopes and fabulous skiing on Saturday, the perfect end to your week!

On your arrival, either Scott or I will come to meet you on the main road where you’ll be dropped off and helped with your luggage for the short walk (2min) to the chalet. Check in is from 3 pm but if you arrive earlier you can drop off your bags and we’ll recommend somewhere close-by to have lunch or drinks. Any time after 3pm we can show you to your room and waiting for you downstairs will be a delicious homemade cake, tea and coffee (or something stronger if you prefer) then there will be time to get settled in and acquainted with the other guests if you are sharing the chalet. This is also a great time to organise ski hire (there are 2 ski shops right next door) if you haven’t already done so or maybe get your own skis tuned and ready for the slopes in the morning!

Children’s tea ( should we have any children staying) will be served at 6 pm and menus can be discussed with parents beforehand as we know that little ones can often be the hardest to please!

Canapés will be served at 7 pm each night and there will be a selection of house wines and beers to accompany them. A 3 course fine dining evening meal will then be served at 7:30 with accompanying pairing wines and an optional cheeseboard to follow.

Breakfast will be available each day from 8 am until 9 am. The continental breakfast will include fresh bread, homemade preserves, fresh fruit, juices, smoothie, croissants, yoghurts, cereals etc and each day we will offer a different hot breakfast special to be served between 8:30 and 9 am to get you all set for a good mornings skiing.

Whilst guests are on the slopes a daily housekeeping service will be provided in all rooms and the communal areas of the chalet will be kept clean and tidy at all times.

On your return homemade afternoon tea of cake, brownies, scones etc will await you and then perhaps a relaxing soak in the hot tub before dinner.

On Thursdays Scott and Sophie take the day off, so in the morning fresh bread will be delivered to your door by the local baker and a continental breakfast will be left ready to help yourselves to.

(This will be cleared and tidied by late morning) this is the only day on which housekeeping is not available. In the evening guests are free to choose from a number of restaurants close by although we particularly recommend Cocon de Neige ( just a minute walk away) or if you’re feeling particularly indulgent you could try the 3 Michelin starred La Bouitte in Meribel (taxi included) . Alternatively there are a number of on piste restaurants who offer a Cat (piste basher) taxi service which can be great fun! Sunny restaurant and bar is a good example. Scott and Sophie can book a table for you in advance, just ask when booking, or you are free to make your own reservations. Some guests just enjoy having a pizza and a movie by the fire. We can recommend a great local pizzeria!

Friday is fondue night! It’s great to indulge in some of the fabulous local cheeses and we provide lots of varied and interesting side dishes and dessert of course!

On Sunday check out is by 10am although we can always look after luggage for guests that may be leaving later.

What our guests say

I can assure you that food and hospitality has always been high on my agenda ( as my waistband can verify ) and I have been lucky enough to have sampled cooking of the highest order from around the world. My party was lucky enough to have been looked after at a magnificent venue on the North Coast of Scotland for a week by Sophie and Scott and we were amazed at the high standard of cuisine for every meal and the use of fresh locally sourced produce.

All this culinary extravaganza’s were served to us with a continued smile and a can do attitude which is also essential when you are on a weeks cherished holiday, where food and wine is one of the central ingredients for success. I can only highly recommend both Sophie and Scott as a brilliant team who will only impress and never disappoint.
